Fritts also served as a Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, and as its Deputy Inspector General. In 1974, he became the youngest professional ambassador in the history of the US Foreign Service. He is currently Director of the Washington Program and Senior Fellow at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. He was selected by the UN as an official elections observer in Africa, and is a frequent lecturer and moderator on foreign policy issues. A graduate of the University of Michigan, he did graduate study at George Washington University. |
